Pumpkin Patch

On Friday night Tyler got off work early so we could pick up Athena from school and go down to Kuna for the pumpkin patch / corn maze! As soon as we headed out it started drizzling and 20 minutest later when we pulled in it was pouring... we decided we would attempt it the next the day while we promised oodles of good times for Saturday due to the fact that we now had 3 disappointed crying children in the car... Kallista hanging out with dad in the car while we decided what we should do about all this rain!

Saturday morning started nice and early with a special breakfast at Krispy Kreme. The kids were stoked they had Halloween donuts. Look at Ty eat! Look at Kallista watching this amazing site of her dad eating! :)
Darius and his chocolate milk, like father like son.
And Athena avoids milk as much as possible so to her dentist's dismay (sorry Wade) she had herself a huge glass of OJ, her absolute favorite.
Ari looks gross but she wouldn't put her tongue in her face!
And Kallista enjoying her 2nd taste of a donut ever. Even though she was quite impressed with it she was still more impressed with her dad.
Then The Farmstead Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze...
Darius and Athena loved their alternative "bounce house". It was like a giant jumping air mattress.
Tyler loved to jump but he had to coax Ari out. She is very uncomfortable with other people bouncing her. She smiled for about 1 second and then started crying...
I took her and Kallista over to the trike race track.
The whole gang running through the mini hay maze.
Then the tractor pull ride. Ari picked out the largest cow.
Athena chose the smallest cow because it was a "cute girl cow!"
Darius didn't care what he sat in as long as it went fast!
This was perfect, there were 3 logs, saddled up for the kids to try their hand at roping.
Ari liked to "cheat". She would get of her saddle, put her rope on the mock bulls head and then saddle back up while holding her rope.
Athena wanted to stay until she threw the rope "perfect". With her self inflicted standards we would probably still be there to accomplish that!
One of Kallista's favorite activities was playing in the "corn" box. Much cleaner than a sand box!
You think sand in your shoes is uncomfortable...
OK this was probably the highlight of the pumpkin patch, the pig races.
The pig caller chose 3 kids from the audience to be, "squealers" for the 3 participating pigs. Athena made her presence so well known the farmer had very little choice but to choose her as an official pig squealer.
Athena's pig, Arnold Schwarzen-"hogger" took first prize!
She won some candy, a gift certificate and the coveted pig snout! She wore it most of the rest of the day!
I need to mention if are noses look red from cold in all the pictures its due to the fact that even though the weather report the night before said it would be in the 50's our sweatshirts were no match for the cutting winds while the temps were in the 40's instead! At least I had a baby blanket in the car Kallista bundled up with in the stroller.
The whole bunch of us on the hay ride.
The pony rides. I must document the kids ponies' names... Snow ball
Cream Soda
and Charlie even though Ari insists it was Charlie Brown!
Hiding from the winds in the corn maze.
crazy kids!
Just walking around.
Hanging with dad waiting for the kids
The Family
Snack time
Kallista trying Cotton candy
Athena trying to like Cotton candy
Ari pretending to like Cotton candy
Darius wouldn't even get near the Cotton candy. So here we are saying our good byes to a great day! I love the holidays!
