Mother's Day

The day was just, perfection...

Tyler and The kids woke me up with hand made cards (my favorite) and breakfast in bed and then at church all the kid's teachers had them make me a ton of gifts!

After church we headed to Grandpa and Grandma Spence's and quickly went outside to enjoy the 1 hour of beautiful weather we had for this week! Robert and Darius got Grandpa's new grill ready for dinner.
Then the men went to work making a fabulous dinner for the women... Tyler in the kitchen receiving much love from all who felt sorry that I wouldn't kiss him today... He is in the middle of a Herpes flare up... On his lip! Besides he would not appreciate it if I caught it too and then look like him! :) (see, I am doing Ty a favor!)
Robert and Bentley working on grilling meat! Rich getting dish pan hands all for the love of his wife!

And of course the most crucial member of the dinner making team, the supervisor and fearless leader, Grandpa!

What were the women to do during all this pampering...? We just took turns ogling over Grandma's Mother's day gift, a puppy!
She is pretty sure she will name her Dolly. Everyone loved the little QT!
After our wonderful dinner we had "The Cheese Cake". The entire thing got eaten, a first! Brandon joined us later for dinner due to a phone call he was on with his "little" (All those Scott men are huge!) brother who is on his mission in Canada. He was so funny he walked in grabbed himself a piece of cake and a piece of steak (see his left hand) for dinner! He said one of the things his Grandpa Scott taught him was to eat desert first in case you choke and die during your meal! A very wise man!

The rest of the evening was just perfect. Everyone hung out, talking and laughing. Of course the kids were just eating up all the attention they received!

We are so blessed to have such a loving and doting family. It makes our time together always so wonderful!

I forget to get out from behind the camera sometimes, but I promise I was there today and I enjoyed myself very much! Thank you to all who made this Mother's Day so special. And to all other Women... Happy Mother's Day!
"Each of you should be grateful to be women! Self-pity is always a sad thing to see and especially when there is no justification for it. To be a righteous women is a glorious thing in any age. To be a righteous women during the winding up scenes on this earth, before the second coming of our Savior, is an especially noble calling. The righteous women's strength and influence today can be tenfold what it might be in more tranquil times. She has been placed here to help, to enrich, to protect, and to guard the home -which is society's basic and most noble institution. Other institutions in society may falter and even fail, but the righteous woman can help to save the home, which may be the last and only sanctuary some mortals know in the midst of storm and strife."
-President Spencer W. Kimball 1978
